Rechargeable Battery Materials (RBM)

We are all on the move. Umicore’s rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. What you will be doing

The RBM business is growing at high pace and to enable this exponential growth,

as Global Master Planner Manager you will:

  • Coordinate & integrate the planning of projects, from early  feasibility assessment to start of production, i.e. design, construction and handover of manufacturing facilities and related structures,
  • Actively contribute to the expansion projects that will deploy the capacity for RBM business unit growth and, ultimately, for the growth of the company as foreseen in our Vision 2030 plan.
  • Work with the multi-discipline teams, the Global Master planner is responsible to interface & integrate the different site project’s timelines in direct coordination with engineering  program/project managers, ePCM partners and   technical functional/domain leaders giving clear visibility of the project status and alerting on time to deviations to the program/project baselines.
  • Support the procurement process within the project/programs (Procurement plan, PO’s, reminders, material receptions) and support the cost controlling of the projects under the global’ s program
  • Setting up and manage a cost controlling process with project managers and program director, cross checking actuals against approved budget
  • Propose improvements (procedures, organizational, new technologies, capex, productivity) as appropriate
  • Capture user feedback and lessons learned for future projects
  • Work abroad for certain periods of time in other RBM sites or at vendor facilities

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in engineering or related applied science
  • Extensive 10 years  project manager or PMO experience, ideally with 5 years’ experience in Automotive (APQP) or Material/Mining Industry
  • Exceptional Proficiency in the use of project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project (0365 or Office 2019) or Planisware Version 7
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet & dashboard applications, such as MS Power BI. MS Excel & Tableau
  • Thorough understanding of industrial project trades and the interactions between all trades (project management, construction management, civil/building/facilities, electrical, piping, process, equipment and start-up activities)
  • Cost controlling experience within a project scope
  • Familiar with practical requirements of environmental, health and safety issues
  • Fluent in English
  • Desired Project or Portfolio Management certification (PMI or Prince2)
