What you will be doing
Umicore’s RISE 2030 objective leads to an extremely strong growth, predominantly in Rechargeable Battery Materials, but where simultaneously also other BU’s demonstrate a strong strategic shift. This shift is facilitated by procurement professionals with strong leadership capability, who drive timely strategic alignment, risk mitigation and identification of opportunities. These procurement leaders interface with several counterparts, amongst which the full procurement organization as well as with the external environment of suppliers and contractors, and this in an increasing international and global context.
The Project Manager Opex Procurement is responsible for timely mobilizing the required resources for all procurement and contract management challenges facing the project, to fill gaps where required, and to drive for risk mitigation and optimal TCO.
The Project Manager Opex Procurement is an integrated team player, reporting as well to the Program Manager hierarchically, but also towards the whole organization, and therefore enabling delivery of the project objectives, implementation of corporate strategies resulting in overall lowest TCO for the entire Umicore project pipeline.
As Project Manager Opex Procurement , your main responsibilities will be :
- Set the project strategy : in/out scope, milestones, deliverables, team requirements, roles & responsibilities…
- Interact with the Program Manager and obtain consensus on the project (procurement) strategy
- Present the project procurement strategy to the own hierarchy, and where required the project Steerco
- Identifies funding needs
- Interact with Category specialists & different Umicore departments
- Ensure correct implementation of tools, processes and standards throughout the project
- Manage external resources allocated to project, and ensure adequate mobilization
- Resolve issues, pro-actively manage risk
- Deliver on schedule and cost objectives of the project, regularly report status on project variance and schedule risks.
- Have a clear overview of the project cash flow situation and requirements
- Document all project decisions as per corporate guidelines, based on a transparent risk assessment related to ao HSE, Schedule, Quality, Contract and Commercial aspects.
- Drive for a strong commercial process
- Collaborates where required in internal and external audits (eg qualification audits of new vendors or products).
- Manage vendors & contractors onsite, analyze the potential risk and recommend actions to mitigate the problems
What we are looking for
- University degree, in Engineering, Economics or equivalent
- Strong Project management experience to start greenfield project
- Indirect purchasing experience, OPEX
- Procurement projects experience
- Strong contracting skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office package
- Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.
