What you will be doing
Umicore is growing at high pace! The 2030 RISE Strategy has set-out an ambitious growth trajectory with a goal to exponentially size our Umicore headcount to enable our 2030 strategy.
The Employer Branding and HR Communications (EB & Comms) Manager drives internal and external communication and the definition of employer branding, including value proposition and communication on HR related topics.
Main responsibilities
Develop and activate Employer Branding and External HR communication
- Take ownership of the definition of a clear and impactful employee value proposition (EVP) to ensure a strong position of Umicore in the employment market in close collaboration with Corporate Communications
- Defining and execution of required external communication activities to launch this impactful employee value proposition across multiple communication outlets & platforms
- Ensure a strategic fit for the EB & HR communications strategy within the overall Umicore Talent strategy
- Ensure Umicore’s culture and values are reflected and safeguarded within the employer branding strategy
- Support continuously in evolving strategies and its roll-out in support of the business
- Define strategic priorities for Umicore on employer branding and HR communications, based on the employer branding vision and targets
Develop Internal HR communication
- Driving and development of communication planning and corresponding activities
- Roll-out of internal HR communication activities and messaging
- Informs, engages, and fosters a common sense of belonging on relevant HR topics that enable Umicore to deliver on its strategic objectives
- Ensure all relevant stakeholders receive the necessary information at the right time, frequency and channels in order to create support for the project changes
- Collaborate with internal & external marketing & communication experts to ensure Umicore is attracting the right talents resulting in a sustainable employee-employer relationship
- Ensure efficiency of the interaction between Corporate HR (communications), Corporate Communications and the communications functions in the business units and sites worldwide
- Understand and translate the employer branding and communications strategy into tailored initiatives and activities
- Execution and continuous improvement of the global employer branding strategy
- Follow-up on employer branding targets and drive new/improved initiatives
- Develop comprehensive and targeted strategic communication plans for all types of projects to inform and engage internal audiences (with a global footprint).
- Oversee the development and digital deployment of stories, content and information for employees at Group level.
- Create stories, content & strong messaging, both internal, external across various channels of delivery. Align internal and external HR communications
- Manage and design HR communication channels (e.g. Connect, Yammer, LinkedIn, toolkits, newsletters)
- Execute events or manage projects on communication (incl. lay-out, design, translations)
- Measure the impact of our communication initiatives
We are looking for
- Master degree with 7+ years of relevant expertise and experience in communication and employer branding
- The ideal profile has experience in a communication agency having learned the ropes
- Excellent communication, presentation, writing and persuasion skills and digital savvy
- Has a strong understanding & grasp on the communication channels used by different generations & target groups
- Ability to interact comfortably with many different stakeholders and on different levels within a matrix organization
- Demonstrates strong HR acumen and can tie solutions to business outcomes, and overall employee performance. Understands the Talent Agenda & the market challenges related to Talent Acquisition, DE&I, Talent Management.
- Ability to innovate new ways to continuously improve the delivery of internal and external HR messaging. Demonstrates a research-minded approach
- Solid general consulting skills; has strong presence & gravitas. Is able to partner with senior leaders & advise them on their communication style & ways of bringing a message
- Relentlessly explores opportunities, tackles problems, and discovers and implements new ways of working to accelerate in employer branding and HR communications
- Skilled in multi-project management and solution minded
- English expert-level language skills, other languages appreciated
