About Rechargeable Battery Materials (RBM)

We are all on the move. Umicore’s rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. What you will be doing

As Global Customer Quality Manager (m/f/d) you are the central contact point for all quality related topics between RBM and the main EU customer organizations. In detail your will be responsible for:

  • Fully understand the customer requirements and expectations
  • Define quality commitments and liability principles to be agreed upon with customer
  • Ensure consistency of project deliverables vs. customer milestones
  • Manages customer’s audits in RBM sites, summarize outcome and support action plans 
  • Attend customer meetings as required, ensuring proper internal follow up and closure of open items 
  • Active member for APQP programs as QM representative
  • Ensure timely and effective communication towards either customer and internal organization
  • Actively support the management of change (MOC) to ensure proper communication towards the customer and to minimize efforts and resources towards implementation

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor or Master in engineering or quality management or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in quality specific roles in complex automotive environment
  • Experience in Tier 1 supplier with direct exposure to customer 
  • Good knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA (VDA 6.3, Maturity Level assessment) 
  • Experience with APQP and PPAP processes 
  • Experience in direct exposure to customers’ audit 
  • Willingness to travel abroad up to 30% of total time
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills in English
  • Strong customer focused, willingness to be really committed 
  • Experience in project management and/or battery industry are a plus
