Business Partner Global indirect Opex Catalysis  – Purchasing and Transportation
 Within a global context and to lead and drive different Procurement Centers with focus on the Catalysis business part of Umicore,  the Business Partner Global indirect Opex Catalysis will maximize added value  out of indirect procurement, guaranteeing security of supply and minimising risk, while ensuring business alignment with the individual sites, increasing the sustainability ambitions and capturing synergies.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • You are responsible for the management, day to day operations, supervision and optimisation of the Catalysis Procurement Centers activities which include indirect procurement (opex/local capex) activities
  • You hierarchically lead the procurement centers of Hanau and Bad Säckingen, and potential new sites to come, while functionally also incorporating opex procurement leadership towards the other Umicore sites of the Catalysis Business Group
  • You reach out to other sites to facilitate process optimisations, share best practices and promote a culture of spontaneous info sharing
  • You coach the site procurement managers, ao in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives for their local categories as well as further developing their teams
  • You take ownership on the different cost optimisation programs of the Business Group Catalysis
  • You support the organizational transformation related to the introduction of SAP Ariba 

 

The function holder may be based in Hanau (GE), Brussels or Hoboken.

 
Who we are looking for

  • Master degree (economics, sciences, …) or equivalent by experience
  • Experience in leading global teams, managing multiple aspects of indirect procurement and supply chain
  • Substantial professional experience in (indirect) procurement or supply chain (>10 years) or senior position with commercial experience
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of capturing business needs
  • Performance and result oriented, internal customer oriented, strives for continuous improvement
  • Analytical & conceptual thinking and decision making; strong project and risk management skills
  • Exemplary behaviour towards ethics and integrity
  • Strong communicator and interpersonal impact (influencing and persuading) as we envisage alignment and synergies across the globe
  • Teamwork, collaboration & flexibility
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, strategic orientation and thinking
  • Fluent in English, additional languages like Dutch & German and French are an additional asset
  • Advanced computer skills
