Working together as colleagues is one thing, but taking time out to get to know each other in a different way is another. Our first Afterwork Party at the site was a fact and certainly worth repeating! Colleagues from all departments were able to enjoy a nice snack and drink together and, of course, a bit of music.
Every year, Umicore Brugge tries to be present at a number of sporting events and especially at the "Miles for Smiles". Relays of 1.6 km (= 1 mile) are run. The atmosphere was great, the DJ provided great running music and the enthusiasm of the runners was high. The after party was also a great success.
Every year Umicore Bruges organizes a party for all employees and partners. The 2022 edition took place at the new Bruges Exhibition, Conference and Congress Centre (BMCC). After two years without a staff party, no expense was spared to make the 2022 edition an unforgettable evening. A delicious dinner, live music, a table magician, a dance party... all the ingredients for a memorable evening were present.
Corona hit hard everywhere. Keep your distance, wear masks, no meetings, no parties... These were the code words. We were all looking forward to the first moment when it was allowed again to celebrate, to meet, to enjoy, to dance and to have fun together. At Umicore Bruges, we also looked forward to such moments. In April 2022, the time had come. Our 'Appraisal Day' was a fact. A large marquee was set up, decorated and furnished. Team building and the inauguration of a new reactor were part of the planning that day. A tasty barbecue, good music, pleasant conversations... and it was a great success!
In 2019, Umicore Bruges participated for the first time in the Open Company Day organized by Voka on 6 October. It gave visitors the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and discover the unprecedented world of Umicore Bruges. Registration was compulsory and the number of visitors was limited to 1,000. The visit, which followed a fixed route through all our departments, lasted about 2 hours and was followed by a chat over a snack and a drink. It was a very popular initiative and an unforgettable day!
