What you will be doing

As Business Consultant, you employ considerable managerial and technical skills as a solution expert and a point of contact for business  IT needs.  We are looking for an experienced and driven Internal Business Consultant specializing in implementing and maintaining the Finance processes. In this critical role, you will collaborate with our cross-functional teams to optimize our internal Finance processes using SAP, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations across our global operations. You will also play a key role in template rollouts within the SAP Finance domain.

The jobholder will be part of the IT team, reporting to the Team Lead SAP Finance , and will interact with the business teams of Umicore (globally), and within the IS department (at global and local level). 

Responsibilities:

• Partner with internal stakeholders and regional teams to assess and understand their Finance requirements and challenges, and provide expert guidance on leveraging SAP to streamline processes.
• Design, implement and maintain standardized Finance procedures and best practices within the SAP environment, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the IT team and external consultants to configure and customize the SAP Finance modules.
• Develop and execute template rollouts for Finance processes, ensuring consistent practices and efficient utilization of SAP functionality across all regions and subsidiaries.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing Finance processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement, automation, and optimization, with a focus on template harmonization.
• Lead and support SAP implementation and upgrade projects related to Finance capabilities, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery within defined timelines and budgets.
• Develop and deliver training to enhance the SAP skills and knowledge of internal users, enabling them to effectively navigate and utilize the finance functionalities.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing ongoing support, guidance, and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, addressing their queries and resolving system-related issues.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in SAP Finance, template design, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to drive continuous process improvements.
• Coordinate with Corporate Finance departments Tax, Treasury, RTR, PTP, OTC;

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in a similar role within a global company or a large multinational organization.
• Expert knowledge of end-to-end finance processes, financial accounting principles, and SAP ERP systems.
• Proven experience in configuring and customizing SAP Finance functionalities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Asset accounting.
• Experience with Treasury functionalities is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex business requirements, design effective solutions, and drive process improvements in workflows and template harmonization.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including finance teams, IT professionals, and senior executives across multiple regions.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with a proactive approach to learning and staying updated on SAP developments, emerging trends in Finance.
• Excellent command and fluency in English. Other languages are a plus.
• Work in an international / multi-cultural environment, with different personnel profiles and managing different priorities simultaneously.
• Manage changes in working methods, processes and tools.
• Results and customer support driven, be accountable and respectful of deadlines.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA is a plus
• Based in Brussels and frequent visits to Hoboken (IS Headquarters)
