About The Role

 

We are currently looking for a Investor Relations (IR) Manager to join the Group Communications and Investor Relations team based in Brussels, Belgium. In this role you play a key role to ensure that Umicore’s equity story (business and ESG strategy, performance and prospects) is well understood by the financial community and stakeholders. You will actively contribute to the definition and implementation of the IR strategy, and enhance and broaden the impact and reach of the IR strategy roadmap.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Together with the Head of IR define the appropriate IR strategy and tactics and translate these into a clear and ambitious IR strategy roadmap
  • Take the lead on the roll-out of specific projects within the IR strategy (e.g. shareholder targeting plan, disclosure analysis, peer benchmarking, specialist webcast events for investors, perception studies and the like)
  • Through your role ensure that Umicore is appropriately and strategically positioned with analysts, investors and relevant stakeholders
  • Together with the Head of IR , VP and the ELT (Executive Leadership Team) translate Umicore’s corporate (business and ESG) strategy into a compelling equity story
  • Analyze, create the communication content and manage Umicore’s financial (half-year and full-year results) and certain other financial and non-financial communication projects (AGM, major corporate announcements and the like)
  • Act as a key contact person between the financial markets and Umicore and as a spokesperson for the financial community. Develop investor confidence in Umicore’s vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value
  • Organize and host events for the financial community and represent Umicore on investor roadshows and conferences worldwide
  • Analyse reports on Umicore, its peers, its end markets; also analyze and present financial trends, shareholder base developments, competitor behavior, shareholder issues and anything else that could impact Umicore’s equity story; provide these insights to relevant senior and top management
  • Manage external IR relationships by participating in relevant sector associations and events (BELIR, Euronext…), work with Legal Corp to ensure compliance on regulatory matters and keep contact with the FSMA when necessary

 

Who we are looking for

 

Requirements:

 

  • 8+ years professional experience within a relevant field (finance, communication, M&A, investment banking, sell- or buy-side analyst) in combination with a master degree in a business-related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written knowledge of English and are fluent in French and/or Dutch
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and orally. Engaging presenter with an outstanding networking skills in an international context - both inside and outside Umicore
  • Good understanding of financial and wider business/economic matters and a strong interest in Umicore’s products, technologies and end-markets
  • Ability to analyse a large amount of financial, economic and technical information and translate this information into short, clear and compelling messages
  • Fast learner, driven and enthusiastic and have the ability and experience to work independently and efficiently within regular and tight deadlines
  • Ability to deal with stress management through good planning and organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt to the audience in order to cope adequately with the contact at various seniority levels
  • Demonstrate a high level of accountability and an ownership mindset
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, flexible and problem solving attitude
  • Open, communicative and a team player
  • Flexible and available to travel globally
