What will you be doing

 

·       Responsible for accounting in the SAP system to ensure accurate, complete and timely closing, analysis and reporting of the forex related figures in the IFRS accounts of all entities within the scope of GFS EUNA (+40 entities), and act as liaison towards different BU’s and control entities.

·       Manage operational activities of FX management which includes: following up on FX cards, unusual transactions, analysis and reporting of FX results and position validation.

·       Coordinate together with the BU Finance responsible for monitoring and reporting of FX results of the assigned legal entities, and be able to explain the results of the BU and legal entities under supervision on a monthly basis.

·       Act as a project manager in the setup of a new control framework that ensures proper control and analysis of forex position and results within accepted limits. Review and align different reporting needs towards stakeholders (BU’s, Treasury, GRC, GPO, GFS).

·       Manage end-to-end forex projects: set up requirements, follow up of the project progress, testing and implementation.

·       Responsible for designing, implementing and organizing internal control and reconciliation activities within the domain to ensure best-in-class organization in accordance with MICR.

·       Identify, design, describe, test and implement process improvement opportunities and automations.

·       Integrate forex activities into the expansion plans of Umicore (new acquired and founded companies, new business and product lines, etc.) and ensure accurate monitoring and reporting within the scope of services delivered by the GFS department, acting as liaison towards other GFS departments (RTR Front Office, OTC&PF, P2P).

·       Supervise, motivate and coach internal and hybrid (EXL) colleagues on a daily basis.

·       Oversee the execution of outsourced processes and manage offshore teams.

·       Connects with external auditors on topics within scope.

 

Who we are looking for

 

·       Master degree in Economics or equivalent by experience; minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar function or within the big 4;

·       Experience in a Shared Service setup or a strong understanding of the concept;

·       A clear understanding and vision of digitalization and automation within Finance;

·       Experience with new technologies and a strong knowledge of ERP Tools, especially in the SAP suite (FI/CO);

·       Project management skills and an ability to organize cross-functional teams at multiple locations;

·       Ability to act as a change manager

·       Able to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively;

·       A very good technical background in accounting;

·       Experience in implementing internal control and reconciliations;

·       Able to work in a highly IS system-driven environment (SAP);

·       Analytical (analyzes numerical data; challenges and summarizes information; produces workable solutions);

·       Fluent with good oral and written communication skills in English.
