With the development of the green zone in Moretusburg, the area around our site has continued to evolve in recent years. The monitoring location for coarse and fine dust immisions used to be located on Curiestraat, but residential activity is now starting in another location. That is why, in consultation with the Flemish Environment Agency, we have adapted our monitoring network so that we continue to measure where it is relevant for our neighbours.
More specifically, we have started up a new monitoring station in Moretusburg (monitoring station UM_81) near Constantin Meunierplein. This monitoring station was installed over the past few months, and the first measurement results have now been available for several months.
The Flemish Environment Agency, VMM, has also moved its monitoring station, which was likewise located on Curiestraat, to this new location. This means that several organisations are measuring at the same location, contributing to accurate and transparent monitoring of air quality near our site.
