Getting to Umicore Olen
By car
Our site is conveniently located near the E313 and E34 highways:
- From Antwerp: Exit 22 – Herentals-East (E313)
- From Hasselt/Liège: Exit 21 – Geel-West (E313)
- From the Netherlands: Exit 24 – Turnhout-Center (E34)

Parking
Visitors can park in one of the designated spaces at Entrance B, located across the street. After registering at the gate, you may continue to Parking D or E if required.
By bike
Our site is easily and safely accessible by bike. A visitor bike rack is available to the right of Entrance B.
You can reach our site via:
- The Herentals–Balen cycle highway
- The towpath along the Herentals–Bocholt canal
- The cycling junction network (our site is located between junctions 12 and 13)
By train
Our site is a 10-minute walk from Olen station, offering direct connections to Antwerp and Hasselt/Pelt.
Herentals station is within cycling distance. You can rent a BlueBike to reach our site. From this station, you have direct connections to Mechelen, Brussels, and Turnhout. For train schedules, visit the NMBS website.
By bus
Several bus stops are located near Umicore Olen:
- Raffinage stop near Entrance B
- Fabrieken stop near Entrance D
- Kasteelstraat stop at the intersection of Kasteelstraat and Lichtaartseweg

By plane
Three airports are located near our site:
- Antwerp Airport – 45 minutes by car
- Brussels Airport – 1 hour by car
- Eindhoven Airport – 50 minutes by car
From Brussels Airport, you can continue your journey by train to Olen. More information is available on the NMBS website.
As a visitor, you must always check in first at the gatehouse at Entrance B. You will receive a badge and a high-visibility vest, and the gate attendant will notify your contact person. If necessary, you can then proceed by car, bicycle, or on foot to Entrance D or E, where your contact person will meet you. At the end of your visit, return your badge and high-visibility vest to the gatehouse at Entrance B. If you leave through a different exit, you can drop them in the blue mailboxes. There is no need to check out again at Entrance B.
