About Support Functions
A global organisation. It’s not just those in our industrial sites and technical centres that are vital to Umicore’s growth. Across our support functions we ensure that we continue to grow and evolve – whether it’s by making sure our decisions are commercially viable, enhancing our reputation, building new customer relationships or finding the right people who can build on what we’ve already achieved. The variety of our work means we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in.
What you will be doing
As a Business Transformation Project Manager, you will drive cross‑functional initiatives that improve the way we work, strengthen our customer experience, and support sustainable business growth. You act as a strategic partner and change agent, ensuring that transformation priorities become clear, executable plans that deliver measurable impact across Umicore, with an initial focus on projects within the People & Organization (P&O) area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of transformation projects, from initial concept to implementation and stabilization.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts to ensure smooth delivery.
- Ensure all initiatives are aligned with Umicore’s strategic priorities and contribute to long‑term value creation.
- Design solutions that are scalable and standardized across regions, functions, and stakeholder groups.
- Identify opportunities to leverage digital tools, automation, and AI to improve processes and decision‑making.
- Define KPIs, interpret insights, and adjust project direction based on data and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams in a global, matrixed environment to drive alignment and shared ownership.
- Develop and execute change management plans, including communication, training, and the overall education component for all key stakeholders.
- Ensure teams understand, adopt, and embed new processes, systems, or ways of working.
- Coordinate cross‑functional adoption of enhancements to ensure consistent application and measurable performance improvements.
Who we are looking for
- At least 10 years of experience in business transformation, project management, consulting, or operational excellence.
- Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into clear insights and decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in global, cross‑functional, and matrixed environments.
- Solid understanding of process improvement and change management.
- Experience with digital tools, automation, or AI‑enabled transformation is an advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, collaboration, and delivering impact.
