What you will be doing
Umicore is seeking a proactive and creative Communication Specialist to strengthen our internal and external communication efforts. In this role, you will contribute to building a consistent corporate image, engaging employees, and supporting organizational objectives through impactful communication initiatives.
- Prepare and schedule social media posts across corporate channels in alignment with the Content and Social Media manager and editorial planning
- Support the creation of engaging digital content (visuals coordination, basic editing)
- Monitor platform activity and assist with community management where applicable
- Propose new approaches to reach internal and external audiences effectively.
- Perform day-to-day website updates using the CMS (content uploads, edits, formatting and maintenance)
- Support digital projects such as page creation, content migration or optimization initiatives
- Ensure web content aligns with Umicore’s brand and style guidelines.
- Monitor basic performance indicators and support reporting activities including improvements based on observations
- Contribute to communication projects, initiatives and campaigns alongside team members
- Provide operational support to the Group Communications team
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Corporate Communications, or a related field.
- Recent graduate or 1–2 years of experience in a communications-related role.
- First experience with social media, content creation, or website management is a plus.
- Fluency in English with strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Good understanding of social media platforms, content formats, and digital trends.
- Strong visual awareness, including layout sensitivity and brand consistency.
- Comfortable working with digital tools, CMS platforms, and collaborative environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
- High attention to detail in proofreading, formatting, and content scheduling.
- Comfortable working within established processes, guidelines, and brand standards.
- Basic understanding of analytics, including engagement metrics and reporting.
- Exposure to photography or video editing is an advantage.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh concepts and to translate insights into actionable ideas.
- Curious and eager to learn, grow, and explore new communication trends.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global and cross-functional teams.
