Since the Umicore Hoboken site is situated in a residential area, we place high value on consistently sharing and exchanging information. For 135 years, the site and its neighbors have made up one community.
Neighborhood newspaper
With our neighbourhood newspaper "Samen één buurt" we inform everyone who lives close to our site on our latest activities. For example, the construction of the green zone between Moretusburg and Umicore, the new connecting road between Hoboken and Hemiksem, the environmental improvements and other important projects.
The neighborhood newspaper is published three times a year.
Below you will find the 3 latest publications.
Are you looking for an older one? The neighborhood newspaper replaces our previous annual environmental reports. These were published up to and including 2019 and can be viewed here:
Information evenings
Every six months, after the publication of the blood lead values, we hold an information evening where representatives of the Provincial Institute of Hygiene (PIH) discuss the results of their research and the Umicore environmental manager gives an overview of the progress of our environmental projects. Any questions from the participants are also be addressed. During the COVID-19 period, the information sessions were held online. Since then, the information sessions have been organized exclusively online.
Through our Facebook page “Umicore Hoboken Buurtinformatie”, we keep our local residents informed about activities that are important to the neighborhood, vacancies, collaborations with local associations, fun facts and much more.
