Junior Credit Analyst
As Junior Credit Analyst, you will be in charge of analysing the financials and creditworthiness of the customers of the Umicore Group, organising the credit committees as well as providing advice on credit requests to the relevant decisionmakers. You will also handle credit insurance matters as well as bank guarantees and (standby) letters of credit.
You will interact closely with all business units of the Umicore Group to understand their businesses and customer credit needs, and assess how Group Credit Management can best provide support to the businesses.
The Junior Credit Analyst reports to the Group Credit Manager.
You prepare good quality and succinct credit applications including financial analysis, risk assessment and advice on course of action;
You exercise timely review of the assigned portfolio in line with all internal policies and procedures
You organise the relevant credit committees with the VP Group Treasurer and CFO;
You maintain good stakeholder engagement with key partners around the organization;
You monitor the compliance with the credit insurance policies;
You take up an advisory role towards the business unit for bank guarantees, letters of credit and other risk mitigants;
You monitor the creditworthiness of the customers in your portfolio;
You participate in ad hoc project related tasks as the business needs require;
You stay abreast of economical developments in Umicore’s relevant sectors.
You hold a master degree in finance or economics;
A previous experience in risk or a commercial function is a plus;
You have a strong interest in the automotive, metal and chemical sector;
You are eager to understand the Umicore business peculiarities;
You are analytical, fast learning and have organizational competencies;
You have numerical skills, including the ability to identify and mitigate business and financial risk;
You are a good communicator and can defend your position;
You have a natural interest in digital tools and the possibilities these can bring to the business;
You are fluent in English; speaking Dutch and/or French is a plus;
You have an extensive knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
You are a team player, flexible and result-oriented.
