Working at Hoboken
Clean technologies are alive in Hoboken: every day you contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable world with recycling processes that belong to the best in the world. That makes us the world’s market leader in the recycling of complex waste streams.
Specifically, we recycle precious metal containing materials in an eco-efficient way. That can be products from non-ferrous industries or products at the end of their life such as old laptops, mobile phones, used automobile catalytic converters or used catalysts from the chemical industry...
This way we extract precious metals including silver, gold, platinum and palladium, special metals like indium, selenium and tellurium, secondary metals like tin and bismuth and base metals such as lead, copper and nickel.
We prepare these for a new life.

Testimonials
Tayeb, Field Operator
Varied work in a great atmosphere
I can alternate in my job, and I think that's good. Dependent on the planning, I work with lift trucks or I serve as an operator in different installations. We work with costly materials, so I have quite some responsibility. And the communication with my chief is good, which is also very important.
The atmosphere is good; I’ve got colleagues with a load of different backgrounds, young and old. Thus we can always get together with our questions. And I’m well paid. Training is also part of it, so I’m certainly learning to operate more systems, which allows us to easily stand in for each other.
Yet I am also very concerned about my health and safety. Fortunately Umicore provides everything necessary for that.
