What you will be doing

As Manager Export Control and Responsible Supply, you are part of the Umicore Transport and Trade Compliance team, that is supporting Umicore Business Units in setting up and maintaining compliant and competitive international supply chains.  You will focus on export control and responsible supply.

 

With regards to Export control, you will:

  • provide leadership and direction to Umicore Business Units, build and foster a continuing program of training and cooperation throughout Umicore group
  • continuously drive improvements in operational export control processes and follow up on regulations’ changes
  • develop, implement and maintain minimum export control requirements and conduct internal health checks
  • serve as a designated point of contact to regularly respond to requests for information, analysis of export compliance impact and review of contract provisions relating to export controls
  • manage the Restricted Party Screening Program for Umicore Group

 

In your role of Responsible Supply Manager, you will:

  • create and implement policies to assure responsible sourcing of precious metals
  • establish and maintain a Due Diligence Guidance as a basic instrument for Business Units concerned to successfully pass independent audits in the framework of certification schemes and regulations
  • advise Business Units concerned on regulations and trends with respect to conflict minerals and supply chain due diligence
  • conduct/facilitate internal and external audits of supply chain certifications
  • assist Business Units in the communication with third parties regarding the conflict minerals and supply chain due diligence approach
  • map and monitor the conflict minerals and supply chain due diligence compliance level in the Business Units concerned and provide training to them
  • assist/monitor Business Units in the daily business partner screening process

Who we are looking for

  • You have a Master Degree in Economics, Law or an equivalent and at least 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar environment
  • You have a good knowledge of actual and pending regulations regarding export control, conflict minerals and supply chain due diligence
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, knowledge of French and German are a plus
  • You have excellent Microsoft office skills ( PowerPoint, Excel,…)
  • You have strong interpersonal and leadership skills and are able to work independently and in team
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills
  • You have strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • You are pro-active, pragmatic, customer oriented and have a disciplined and ethical mindset
  • You have a strong focus on continuous improvement and commitment to achieve results
